OUR STORY

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20

Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs began in 1987 with Pastor Ray leading a home Bible study in Norwalk, which included twelve believers coming together to hear the Word of God.

As the small body of believers began to grow, the Lord provided a building in Norwalk to host the church, which became known as Calvary Chapel Norwalk. The first service was held on Sunday, July 28, 1991 and the Lord continued to grow the ministry in Norwalk for several years.

Eventually, the Lord led Pastor Ray to the city of Santa Fe Springs. In 1993 the church began to meet in the cafeteria of Santa Fe High School and the church's name was changed to “Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs”. This young body of believers found a special place in the city and the Lord continued to meet their needs.

In 1995 the church began to meet in an industrial building for Wednesday evening services and continued Sunday morning services at Santa Fe High School.

In 1997 God provided Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs with their own building off Florence and Norwalk Blvd., where a small industrial building was transformed into a home for this body of believers.

Since the early beginnings of the home Bible study, Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs has expanded to more then 1000 people attending weekly services. The fellowship offers three Sunday mornings services, a Sunday evening service (including a Spanish service), and a weekday service on Wednesday nights. Children’s classes (Nursery-6th grade) are available every service, and Youth classes (7th grade-12th grade) for most services.

In addition, CCSFS also offers numerous ministry opportunities to grow the church body both spiritually and in their individual gifts. Ministries include: Worship, Children's Ministry, Men/Women's Bible studies, Married Couples Fellowship, New Believers, Discipleship classes and many more that allow an opportunity to grow and serve.

CCSFS desires to raise up strong believers in Christ, who are equipped to serve the Lord in their homes, schools, work places, and in the church. As we continue to grow and expand, our ultimate goal is to share the good news of Jesus Christ through worship, the study of His Word, fellowship, and on the mission field.
